Genie 君怡's background training and experience in Public Speaking, Neuro Linguistic Programming, Music, counseling and communication give her a unique perspective on the importance of communication skills in any field of work.

Genie 君怡 has served as an Associate Trainer cum Youth Counselor with We-sharecare Society for Children & Youth (Singapore) and in the last 5 years, mentored and trained in various areas of communication skills, including effective conversation skills, effective public speaking and presentation skills, good use of the English language, delivering humorous and entertaining speeches, dealing with angry and dissatisfied customers and telephone techniques.

She is a firm believer of a need for good communication skills and actively engages her students in a very interactive and interesting process of learning and having fun at the same time. Her disposition, professionalism and proficiency have guided many students into their journey toward encouraging improvements.

Genie 君怡's debut in the world of music was through her album, GENIE's MOOD DIARY last year. Most of the songs contained in the Album were written and composed by Genie 君怡 herself. She is the FIRST singer in Singapore to use her blog to launch an album of songs reaching out to the young. The CD contains a repertoire of songs inspired by, and based on, daily entries from her blog, which can be viewed and purchased at www.genie.sg . In November 2005, Genie 君怡 was nominated for the Singapore Hit Awards "Media Recognition Award - New Local Artiste".

In keeping with the times, Genie 君怡 made an unprecedented move in the Chinese music industry by launching a virtual album, titled Genie's MAgIC , with all songs released purely online. This is also a private initiative on her part to educate Singaporean youths about illegal downloads. The project, also called Genie's MAgIC, which stands for Movement Against Illegal Content-sharing/downloading , was launched in June 2006, along with the first single, "Wish". She has also launched her second and third singles, "Melbourne" & " Why " in the following months. Her efforts were recognized by members of the public and she was awarded the Pantene Shine Award, through public voting!

In time for Christmas 2006, Genie 君怡 launched a SELL OUT Christmas CD-"BECAUSE OF LOVE " for Charity. This Limited Edition CD contains the singles from GENIE's MAgIC, plus a brand new original Christmas song written, arranged and produced by Genie 君怡 , in both English and Chinese! "BECAUSE OF LOVE is Genie 君怡's way of expressing her love for the less privileged and her understanding of the true meaning of Christmas as the source of inspiration behind the title track, whilst hoping to raise funds for the community in the way she might do best i.e. through her music, all BECAUSE OF LOVE! ALL PROCEEDS from the sale of the CD were donated to The Salvation Army! Promotional performances and sale of the CD took place at several shopping malls all around the island through out year end!

Genie�s Mood Diary II 心情日记第二章, the latest album by Genie 君怡 was launched on 20 April 2008 following a full house preview concert at the University Cultural Centre end of 2007. The album is available at all Sembawang Music Centre stores. For every purchase, you�ll get a free copy of Genie�s debut album, Genie�s Mood Diary, 心情日记!So don�t miss out on this last and definitely the BEST album by Genie.

Music Director

Mr Vaughan Tan

Vaughan brings with him years of experience as a performer and a teacher.

As a performer, Vaughan has been singing for more than 20 years, first with Singapore’s first all-male acappella group “In-A-Chord” and later with Singapore’s premier jazz acappella group “Key Elements”. With the former group Vaughan has recorded 3 full-length CD albums and has performed extensively, both locally and regionally, sharing the same stage as Sandy Lam, Dick Lee, and Jacintha, just to name a few. The current group, “Key Elements&rdquo, has also released an EP and a full-length Jazz album, and has performed at various international festivals.

As a teacher, he has taught numerous students, whose age range from 6 to 60. Effectively bilingual and well-versed in both classical and pop style of singing, his versatility means he is able to cater to the specific needs of the students.

Aside from music, Vaughan also has extensive experience in the media and broadcasting industry. Trained in the then-Singapore Broadcasting Corporation in 1986 as a dubbing artiste, and later in 1992 as a TV compere, Vaughan worked as a part-time radio presenter on Symphony 92.4 and City Radio 95.8 over the period from 1989 to 1998. Since 1994, he has also been a sought-after voiceover talent for TV and radio commercials, as well as documentaries and corporate videos.


Associate Trainer

Mr. Charles Ang

Being qualified in the piano, violin and viola, all with ABRSM Grade 8, Charles has taken his interest in music into classical, jazz, pop and a little funk and rock. He obtained his Bachelor in Business Management (BBM) majoring in Marketing from Singapore Management University (SMU).

In SMU, he directed the music aspect of its first musical - Whispers. He also wrote original songs for the production, one of which was performed in subsequent productions, including Tunnel through Time the Musical. Charles was also actor cum Music Director for Whizz, an adaptation of the Wizard of Oz, which was a resounding success.

Apart from acting and directing music, Charles has been coaching people from all walks of life on the violin, viola, piano, and in singing for the past four years. Being the founding member of the SMU Chorale, he coaches the group that is now known as Voix. He's a volunteer with WOW! - As a coach and performer, coming alongside teens and volunteers in singing as a group and preparing them for performances.

Charles has also recorded voiceovers for magazines like Coco and big organizations like the Housing and Development Board of Singapore.
